Brian Martin

Brian MartinBrian is our other resident North Carolinian besides Charles McGalliard. He shares a loyalty for North Carolina basketball but for some odd reason likes the New York Yankees (can any good thing come from New York?). In another strange twist, he despises the Boston Red Sox. He does recover with an interest in the Washington Redskins.

Brian graduated from Erskine College with a BS in Chemistry and Reformed Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. (That totally explains the twists and confusion!) He worked with CSO as an intern while studying at RTS and joined the staff in June 2006 as the Assistant Director of CSO Chaplains where he pursues his interest in seeing people understand and embrace the message of Christianity. Brian likes the atmosphere of CSO – marked by concern and genuine enjoyment of each other.

Brian grew up playing recreational baseball, softball, and soccer and has blossomed into a star shortstop and one of the top receivers on the JGR Championship Flag Football team – even though he did drop a perfect touchdown pass at the end of a key loss to Roush Racing. He also backpacks, plays drums, and runs, having completed one marathon and currently rains for half marathons in order to support his interest in eating.

One final thought – Brian’s work history has its variations – from bagging groceries in high school to an ice cream plant for a summer in college, to a paint lab right out of college, to an Analytical Chemist, to working in finance with The Vanguard Group.
